Clermont Police Department to Take on Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Holiday Charity Basketball Game
CLERMONT (Nov. 26, 2018) – Battle of the Badges, a crowd favorite, is back for another fun rivalry for charity.
On Dec. 18, the Clermont Police Department will compete against the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in this annual holiday basketball game for a good cause. The game is set to start at 6:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. at Clermont Elementary School, 680 E. Highland Ave.
The event benefits Christian Men in Action, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, by helping provide holiday toys to children in the Lincoln Park community. On Christmas Eve, Christian Men in Action along with Chief Charles Broadway and members of the Clermont Police Department will give the toys to the kids at its annual Christmas party at McKinney Park, 801 Bloxam Ave, from 5pm – 8pm.
Clermont Police Chief Charles Broadway would like to personally invite the public to come out and cheer on their local law enforcement. Please bring an unwrapped toy to donate for this great cause as your admission for the game. Getcha Praise On Productions Dance Academy will be performing at the game’s halftime show. The National Anthem will be performed by Adam Narvaez and Katlyn Sahad of A&K Music. The managers of Zaxby’s of Clermont and Texas Roadhouse of Clermont have graciously donated several raffle prizes to be given out during the game. Ms. Darby Shields of Revolution Realty has provided the drinks that the Clermont Police Explorers will be selling during the event.
