The Florida Forest Service today will be conducting a controlled burn of up to 300 acres in the Tavares Nature Park in Tavares from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Lake County Office of Fire Rescue and the Tavares Fire Department will be assisting with the controlled burn. Smoke from the fire is expected to be heavy in the Tavares area.
