Howey Bridge Closed After Crash Involving Septic Truck

Crews are working hard to reopen the Howey Bridge after a Septic truck was involved in a crash causing sewage to spill all over the roadway.

At this time there no estimate as to when the bridge will be reopened. We will update this article once the bridge is reopened.

Advised alternate routes are CR 48 and US 27 or CR 448 and CR 561.

(UPDATE)FDOT District 5 advises that the Howey Bridge will be open to one-lane traffic with flagging operations. They expect to have both lanes open by mid-afternoon
