Clermont Police Department has a big thank you for the ladies of the Clermont Comfort Critters (CCC) organization for their generous donation of stuffed animals for the CPD Stuff a Cruiser program. These stuffed Critters are carefully handmade by the group with lots of care and time. The CCC has made and donated over 700 bears throughout 2018 alone!
Stuff a Cruiser is a program that was organized by Clermont Officers who noted the need to bring a smile to a child’s face during a crisis. A crisis can range from a scary medical call that a child may have witnessed, to a financially struggling family over the holidays.
Here is how it works. Clermont Police Officer’s first gather toys at different locations throughout the city. We ask for new and unwrapped toys. We than distribute them among the police officers to keep in their patrol vehicles to hand out to children on calls during a crisis. We also donate a portion of the toys to struggling families over the holidays. Last year, the CPD was able to steadily help many children over the holidays and throughout the year thanks to the support of many business, churches, and residents of Clermont.
You also can have the opportunity to donate an unwrapped toy for our Stuff a Cruiser program by stopping by the Clermont Police Department located at 3600 S US HWY 27, preferably during normal business hours.
