On November 19, 2018, at 4:30 pm CPD officers responded to a call at 2605 E Hwy 50 (7 Eleven) in reference to skimmers being located on two of the pumps.
Officers spoke with employees and learned that sometime in the early morning of 11/19/18 the evening manager located a skimmer on the inside of gas pumps one and two.
CPD has told us that the skimmers are not blue tooth so it is unclear if any information has been removed from them or if they were found early enough to prevent any fraudulent activity. It is possible that they have been there for a long period of time and the information is gathered and they are left there to retrieve more information.
During the holiday season, more people try to run scams and prey on the goodwill of others. Keep your guard up and please be safe.
