Two Juveniles Arrested for Armed Robbery of Marcos Pizza

CLERMONT (November 13, 2018) – At approximately 1210 am Saturday morning (11/10/2018), Clermont Police Officers responded to Marcos Pizza located at 4279 S. Highway 27, Clermont, Florida reference to an armed robbery that just occurred. The suspects were described as two younger white males, wearing dark clothes and gloves.

 

As the initial responding officer arrived at the scene he was advised that the suspects had fled south from the business on foot. The Officer began to check the plaza and located a white Nissan Titan truck exiting the rear of the plaza. The officer was able to determine that both subjects were wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts and the driver had dark colored gloves on. The Officer attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle and upon activating his emergency lights the driver fled, from the officer. The driver turned onto a dirt road and ultimately the vehicle became stuck in the soft sand. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody without incident, however, the passenger fled from the vehicle.

Clermont Officers were able to locate two handguns and clothing similar to those items described by the victims as having been used in the robbery. Post Miranda the subject confessed to the robbery and helped to plan it because he was in need of money.

Shortly after 7:30 am, the second suspect was located and taken into custody. The suspect was in possession of a brown paper bag that containing a camouflage drawstring bag that had a blue bank bag as well as three black Marcos’ Pizza bank bags. Each bank bag contained money taken from the business during the robbery.

Both subjects, in this case, are juveniles and are now in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
