2018 Uniform Crime Report Statistics Shows a Significant Overall Reduction in Crime for the City of Clermont


The Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) statistics for the State of Florida for the 2018 calendar year, from January to December, has just been released. These statistics are the standardized measure that is used across the United States to report crime within communities, states, and regions.

The Clermont Police Department is pleased to announce that in 2018 there was an overall reduction in crime by 21.7% in the City of Clermont.  This report also showed a reduction of 14.9 % in the total crime index numbers from 2017 to 2018.  Uniform Crime Reporting index statistics are part I crimes such as burglary, motor vehicle theft, and violent crime.

The Clermont Police Department has seen positive results in reducing crime by instituting the law enforcement models of Community Policing, Intelligence Led Policing along with Crime Prevention and Awareness.
