Lake County Supervisor of Elections, Alan Hays, announced that a ballot recount for the November 5, 2019 Tavares City Council Seat 4 municipal election will be held at 8:30 am on Friday, November 8, 2019, at the Lake County Supervisor of Elections Office.
“Under Florida Statute, a recount is triggered automatically when the margin of victory is one half percent or less,” Hays stated. The Tavares City Council Seat 4 unofficial result is a margin of 0.26%, thus the recount is mandated by state law.
The recount is open to public observation.
