Clermont Man Arrested for Grand Theft Auto

On Sunday, June 2, 2019 deputies were called to an address on Florida Boys Ranch Road in Clermont to locate a stolen vehicle. Witnesses said Chad Traniello (24) of Clermont had pulled up to the home and requested assistance to restart the vehicle because he didn’t have the keys.

When deputies arrived, they located the vehicle, reported stolen out of Sumter County Sheriff’s Office-Florida and a white male fleeing on foot into the swamp.

Aviation, K-9s and other deputies responded to help locate Traniello. Once aviation located him the swamp attempting to conceal himself underbrush, K9 handler J. Suttles and K-9 Dando ordered him out of the water and to drop the knife he held in his hand.

K9 Dando then engaged Traniello and the two, and deputies struggled finally taking Traniello into custody. Traniello was transported to the hospital for his injuries and later booked into the Lake County Jail.

It is important to note that Traniello also has active warrants out of Orange and Broward Counties.
