Clermont PD Releases Statement on Officer’s Arrest


The following is a statement released by Clermont PD regarding the arrest of Sergeant David Johnson:


Sergeant David Johnson was arrested for domestic battery allegations by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office on the night of June 25th and booked in the Lake County jail. Sergeant David Johnson has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of the these investigations. David Johnson was hired in September of 2010 and is currently a Road Patrol Supervisor. This is an ongoing criminal and internal investigations, so additional details cannot be released at this time.

Chief Broadway gave the following statement, “Police officers are held to very high standards. It’s disheartening whenever a police officer is charged criminally. This arrest is in no way reflective of the fine men and women of the Clermont Police Department who, day in and day out, commit their lives to service, building community trust, and earning the title of the Finest Professionals in Law Enforcement.”
