FPRA Lake County Chapter presents ‘Racial Intelligence Training and Engagement’ with Sgt. Fred Jones

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Fred Jones brings a unique perspective to the conversation of use of force in law enforcement. An advocate for Racial Intelligence Training & Engagement (RITE), Sgt. Jones makes a passionate and reasoned plea for empathy in law enforcement. He has taught RITE to his entire agency and has seen first-hand its positive impact.

The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Lake County Chapter is proud to welcome Sgt. Jones as guest speaker for a virtual professional development luncheon at noon on Oct. 21 via Zoom. To RSVP for this event, email FPRALake@gmail.com.

Sgt. Jones is a firm believer in transparency between law enforcement agencies and the community. He will share with participants his personal journey in law enforcement and how he brought forward RITE principles to leadership.

A native Floridian, Sgt. Jones has worked in law enforcement for over 20 years. He currently serves the Sheriff’s Office in Professional Standards and acts as one of the agency’s Public Information Officers. He also serves as the agency’s Crisis Intervention Training Coordinator and works with LifeStream Behavioral Center to train his and other agencies in de-escalation techniques.
