Groveland Police Department Makes Narcotics Bust

The Groveland Police Department makes huge narcotics bust during a routine traffic stop.

 

On November 14, 2019 at approximately 9:04 p.m., Officers with the Groveland Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of State Road 50 and Montevista Road.  Groveland Officers made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and upon doing so detected a strong odor consistent with marijuana emanating from within the vehicle.  Officers then obtained consent from the registered owner, Anthlone Washington Wade, to search the vehicle.

Upon searching the vehicle, Officers discovered and seized, the following illegal drugs and narcotics:

  • 273.15 Grams of Marijuana
  • 25.36 Grams of Hallucinogenic Mushrooms
  • 3,209 Grams of THC Oil vials
  • 16 Grams of Acid Tabs
  • A Glock 23 .40 Caliber handgun

Anthlone Washington Wade of Minneola, Florida was arrested subsequent to the search, and charged with Trafficking in Synthetic Cannabinoids, Possession of Hallucinogenic Mushrooms, Possession of Marijuana over 20 Grams, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Possession of Paraphernalia, Carrying a Concealed Firearm Without a License, and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.  Additional unidentified substances were found at the scene and were submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for proper identification; additional charges pending.

“Guns and drugs are a bad combination,” said Chief Shawn Ramsey of the Groveland Police Department.  “The “City of Natural Charm” is now, and always will be, off limits to those persons passing through with such criminal intentions.  I credit the hard work of the men and women of the Groveland Police Department for their continued efforts towards maintaining our exceptional quality of life here within the City of Groveland.”
