The Lake County Animal Shelter is celebrating National Adoption Weekend in partnership with PetSmart Charities. The event will take place at the Lake Square Mall, located at 10401 U.S. Highway 441 in Leesburg from 1 – 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29 and Sunday, March 1.
The pet adoption event will feature free pet adoptions of dogs and cats from the Lake County Animal Shelter. All adopters will receive a coupon book from PetSmart featuring discounts on pet supplies and services for their new family member.
“We’re excited about the event as it is a great opportunity to find homes for our homeless pets,” said Whitney Boylston, Director of Lake County Animal Services. “We encourage everyone to come out, meet our animals and adopt if they can.”
More than 25,000 pets find forever homes during National Adoption Weekend events, which take place quarterly. The shelter also hosts its own adoption events throughout the year.
