Update: Victim Identified in Shooting at Sundance Apartment in Clermont Last Night – Police Seeking Information


The Clermont Police have issued the following statement about yesterday’s shooting.



CLERMONT (January 24, 2019) – The Clermont Police Department is investigating the shooting of an adult male victim which occurred in the 1600 Block of Johns Lake Rd.  At approximately 8:52 PM, officers responded to a call for multiple gun shots heard coming from inside the Sundance Apartment Complex.


Responding units discovered an adult white male laying in the parking lot area suffering from bullet wounds.

Witnesses advised observing three [3] vehicles leaving the area at a high rate of speed.  These vehicles are described as a silver car, a black car and a red or burgundy car.  Detectives and officers are actively investigating this scene in an attempt to identify the victim and develop suspect leads.

The Clermont Police Department is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Dominic Dionisio Marquez, DOB of 12/22/1994, from Winter Springs, Florida.  At this time, our investigators are working with a person of interest to obtain more information into the facts surrounding this investigation.
