Lake County firefighters are incredibly honored to present the proceeds, totaling $4,500, from the “Rescue Me” charity calendar to the Lake County Animal Shelter. Together, firefighters and the adoptable cats and dogs featured in the 2019 calendar captured the hearts of the public, who purchased a total of 450 calendars, to benefit such a great cause.

“We are so grateful for our county firefighters who risk their lives to protect our citizens and their pets,” said Lake County Animal Shelter Director Whitney Boylston. “The fact that they dedicated their time and effort to help benefit our shelter pets makes this donation extremely special.”

The calendar was sponsored by the Professional Firefighters of Lake County Local 3990, a not-for-profit 501C3 organization which raises funds for the local community, with photography, graphic design and print production completed in-house by the Lake County Office of Communications. The public is welcome to celebrate this special partnership at the check presentation event at 28123 County Road 561, Tavares on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m.
